Wrapping things up in Hooterville

Following the passing of Granny, the surviving Clampetts made a stop in Hooterville before returning to Beverly Hills. Scene opens as Miss Jane drives Jed, Elly May and Jethro to the Clampett Mansion. While unpacking the car, Jed lamented on how much life’s changed with Cousin Pearl, that nice Kate Bradley at the Shady Rest - that big ole place seems a bit bigger, and colder since Granny is gone. Jed & Elly May talk of how much they like Hooterville and want to go back. This time for good. Mrs Drysdale hears of this, as Jed explains when he calls looking for Milburn. Milburn is off at a meeting ( this explains Drysdale not being in the show due to Raymond Bailey’s health issues)

In a very rare showing of emotion, Mrs Drysdale seems quite upset by Granny’s passing- that changes quickly glee upon learning that the Clampetts are moving ( tra la la la) she then orders Ravenswood to not mention at all to her husband. Meanwhile in Hooterville, Homer Bedloe is back after the Cannonball again, trying to work a deal with Mr Haney. Hathaway discovers that there’s something in the original contracts from the OK Oil company which siphons the money from the Clampett swamp to the Commerce Bank. Drysdale is unavailable, so they need to consult with John Brewster. Quick cameo by Robert Osborne who is acting as Hathaway’s secretary since Drysdale is out. Clampett doesn’t understand the contract, so puts in a call to Oliver Wendell Douglas. He flies to Beverly Hills along with Lisa to examine the contracts.

Lisa hits Rodeo Drive with Elly May & becomes the influence that Jed always wanted. Showing you can be lady-like, dress fashionably, but still do farming chores. Meanwhile at the bank, Oliver Douglas notices that In his excitement to get the Clampett fortune, Drysdale signed on the wrong page - so they are under no obligation to keep their money in the Commerce Bank. The OK Oil agreement isn’t affected- so Brewster is happy. Drysdale not. Feeling Drysdale deceived them all those years, The Clampetts withdraw the money from the bank, causing it’s closure & Drysdale’s worst nightmare.

Jane Hathaway flies back to Hooterville with the Clampetts & Douglas’s. Jethro remains behind being a big Hollywood pro-ducer. Landing at the airport, they trip in on the Cannonball to the Shady Rest. Betty Jo Bradley is running the train, since Steve still can’t get his crop dusting business going. His plane grounded. Floyd Smoot is on the train with Wendell. The Douglas return to the farm, much to their chagrin & the Clampetts go to Shady Rest. Norman P Curtis arrives and is sick and tired of Bedloe’s meddling once and for all. The only reason Bedloe can even try to get the Cannonball shut down is that it’s owned by C & W railroad. Curtis decides to sell the spur line of the tracks to Clampett, who in turn gifts it to Betty Jo Bradley. Out of work ,Bedloe goes to work on the railroad as Floyd is going to retire, and who else knows the Cannonball better.

Back on the farm, Mr Kimball notices irregularities in the soil which requires millions in work. Jed offers, but the Douglas’ are reluctant. During it all Lisa is up the pole to get a phone call from a studio lawyer offering Oliver a job. He tried his hand at farming, but it's time for Lisa to be happy. Jed Clampett trades his mansion for the Haney place- much to Haney’s chagrin. Alf & Ralph are still working on the bedroom. Clampett levels the farmhouse and with the help of the townsfolk builds a new farm house ( very similar to the cabin) and with Kimball’s help re-does the soil. The Douglas take Arnold with them to Beverly Hills. Clampett builds Sam Drucker, a new store & due to the fortune remaining builds a bank in Hooterville. ’

Elly May & Eb marry in a ceremony presided by Sam Drucker on the farmland, while Haney tries to charge for parking. Arnold is the ring bearer. Jed lets them live in Watson house. Eb helps Jed with the farm. Elly May becomes the town veterinarian. Back in Californy Jethro is losing money hand over fist at Mammoth Pictures, is about to lose his bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills. He puts out a call to Jane Hathaway who flies back out to help him run the finances of the studio much to the gratitude of Mr Chapman. She arrives with Homer Bedloe. ( Once you straighten out the studio, she says to Bedloe, I want you to have a word with the manager of my apartment building) Jethro finally realizes how much he needs her. They get married. Arnold Ziffel pulls down the red carpet for the couple to walk down. Before the wedding the other 2 Bradley girls become actresses working with Dash Riprock. Steve takes over the Shady Rest. Mr Haney stays selling maps to the Hollywood stars' homes as Mr Clampett flies everyone out for Jethro’s wedding. Mark Templeton’s brother is the preacher who is marrying. Bill Baldwin does a report in the helicopter about the wedding of the year.

Wedding guest cameos include Sonny Drysdale with Mrs Drysdale , before being seated Sonny proclaims Mother - who are these derelicts and camera pans to Gabe Dell, Tom Poston, Pat Harrington- sits next to Bill Dana. Does Jose Jimenez , also Ravenswood, Alf Monroe,

Ralph Monroe seated next to Hank Kimball, another gag is Haney trying to make guests pay for parking as Drucker chases him off. Soupy Sales in uniform, Eleanor Audley being seated by Oliver who is in the wedding party saying to Lisa , I think I’ve seen the groom someplace before.

The wedding takes place at the Douglas estate as the residents of Hooterville & Bugtussle look on as Flatt & Scruggs perform the ballad of Jed Clampett as Curt Massey leads the band

That's my look at the end of the Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres & Petticoat Junction. Let me know what you thought in the comments below.
