Unsolved Mysteries: A Creepy Reminder of a Childhood Show

While we are in this pandemic, we are literally running out of TV to watch. At least that is what I think every evening when I slump on my couch, search streaming services, give

up and watch The Office.

However, yesterday Netflix unveiled the first six episodes for the reboot of a childhood nightmare: Unsolved Mysteries. The premise is still the same (for the most part). This time around, each episode only focuses on one story that has remained unsolved over the years. Also, this go around does not have a host. RIP Robert Stack. The chilling opening music is still present to give you countless nightmares.

Last night I watched three of the six episodes. Topics were alien abduction (something that has scared me for years), a mother who possibly murdered her husband and daughter (she totally did it), and a man who may have killed himself by jumping off a tall building (he didn't commit suicide!).

Overall, it was an enjoyable two and half hours of television. Netflix does have an additional six episodes that they will air later this year, at a still TBD date. I highly recommend you

check them out and let me know your thoughts!

The original Unsolved Mysteries ran from 1987-2002 featuring almost three hundred episodes. A remake came out in 2008 and starred Dennis Farina as the host. It would con

tinue production through 2010.
