Schitt's Creek: 5 Things We Loved About the Emmys

It was a fantastic night for the cast and crew of the beloved comedy Schitt's Creek. The series took home seven Emmy wins during the live event hosted by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Schitt's Creek also won two additional Emmy awards at the ceremony that was held earlier in the weekend for casting and costumes. Here are the five things we most loved about last night's events.

Annie Murphy's Win

It was predicted that Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, and Dan Levy were all going to win in their categories. However, many were thinking Alex Borstein was going to take home the Supporting Actress statuette. Murphy's best work came in Schitt's Creek final season, so we are glad she was able to win with her co-stars.

History Making

Schitt's Creek made history at the Emmy awards. This is the first time that a comedy series was able to sweep all four acting categories. It could not have gone to a better cast! The comedy has made history with its depiction of LGBTQ characters, so it was only fitting they would also make history at this awards show honoring their final season.

Supporting Characters

Patrick and Ronnie are two of my favorite supporting characters on Schitt's Creek, so it was great to see both Noah Reid and Karen Robinson at the ceremony. Karen was sitting in the perfect spot to get her amazing reaction to all the Emmy love her co-stars received during the evening. Noah didn't get a ton of screen time, but we still know he was there!

Eugene Levy's Love for Dan

We already knew Eugene loves his son Dan and daughter Sarah more than anything in the world. However, it was still so special hearing him talk about Dan's success during the acceptance speeches. We wish that Sarah could have been there as well, but Dan did share a video on Twitter of her watching all the wins at home.

Dan's Outfit

Schitt's Creek fans know that Dan Levy could pull off a kilt. The character David Rose wore one in the series finale when he married Patrick. It was so great seeing him all decked out in another one to sort of pay homage to the show. No sweats were allowed for the Rose family during awards season.
