I am sure when you read that title, you were thinking to yourself: "Great... another streaming service I have to pay for to watch content. I might as well go back to cable." And I don't blame you. I feel the same way. If you want to watch TV, you need 5-6 streaming services that can add up to more than a cable bill. If you do feel the need to get Peacock (which you might since "The Office" is leaving Netflix at the end of the year) here is some quick tidbits about the new streaming service.
What will be on Peacock?
The platform will have many of your favorite series like "Parks and Recreation" and "Friday Night Lights", plus films like the "Fast and the Furious" franchise. Peacock will also have original series like the very much hyped about "Saved by the Bell" reboot.
When does Peacock launch?
The streaming service makes it full debut on Wednesday July 15th, but has been available to Xfinity subscribers since April.
What is the price for Peacock?
There is some good news here. If you do not wish to pay for Peacock, there is a free tier to the platform. Of course, there will be ads and only half the library will be available. For $5 a month, you get the full library with ads. If you hate commercials, an ad free option is available for $10 a month. The advertisements will be limited to 5 minutes per hour which is about 10 minutes less than if you were viewing the content with a cable provider.
What other shows will be on Peacock?
Peacock will have the third season of "AP Bio", a "Punky Brewster" sequel, a new "Battlestar Galatica" series, "Straight Talk" with Rashida Jones and "Brave New World" with Demi Moore. Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, and Amy Poehler are all in talks to develop shows with Peacock.
