It is crazy this this television season (fingers crossed November 11th will still be a go!) marks the start of the 9th, 8th, and 6th seasons for Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med. Each series has seen several key and much loved characters part ways. Here is the three characters we would love to see return to the One Chicago universe. This list only includes characters that are still alive. RIP Otis and Alvin etc.
Gabby Dawson - Chicago Fire
Gabby Dawson was a critical character for the first six seasons of Chicago Fire. She was romantically linked to several of the series' hotties includes Matt Casey and Jay Halstead. Gabby and Matt finally found happiness when the two got married in season five. A little over a year later, she randomly decides to head off to Puerto Rico. Though we did get some closure on her character, we felt her up and divorcing Matt wasn't a likely scenario for her character.
Antonio Dawson - Chicago PD
Like his sister, Antonio Dawson was key to the success of One Chicago. He appeared in the Chicago PD (and briefly Chicago Justice) world. We were first introduced to his character on Fire before the PD series spun off in 2014. The character went through a lot of struggles with his family and battling addiction. The latter was the main focus of his character in season 6. When the series came back in fall of 2019, it was announced he also moved to Puerto Rico. We never got a true good-bye for our favorite detective.
Erin Lindsay - Chicago PD
Another detective that said good-bye too soon was Erin Lindsay. She was first introduced to the One Chicago World during the second season of Chicago Fire. Lindsay would be a pivotal character on PD until her abrupt exit at the end of season 4 to go work for the FBI. Sophia Bush left the show claiming abusive behavior, so it is not likely she will be returning any time soon. However, we can still hope.
Sarah Reese - Chicago Med
I will be the first to admit that I was not a fan of Sarah Reese during the first season of Chicago Med. When she started working more closely with Dr. Charles, I fell in love with her passion for patients. That love was short-lived as Dr. Reese left the show at the end of season 3. Her exit was explained in the season 4 premiere as she left to continue her residency elsewhere. We do hope she can pop up in the future though!
