Grey's Anatomy: Show will Take on Corona Virus in 17th Season

TV fans have been wondering when their favorite television shows will resume production. By the way the corona virus numbers keep increasing, don't expect to see any shows returning with new episodes this fall. However, some series are indicating some storylines that will be tackled once they return to the air. One of those is hit drama Grey's Anatomy. The show's 17th season will focus on the corona virus pandemic according to executive producer Krista Vernoff.

"We are going to address this pandemic for sure. There's no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes," admitted Vernoff. The information was revealed at a panel hosted by the Television Academy and will be streaming in full Tuesday evening at 8 PM ET on Emmys.com . Stars Chandra Wilson and Kevin McKidd also participated in the panel session.

The show's writers are meeting with real doctors who have shared their personal stories from the last several months. Those stories will then be brought to life on Grey's Anatomy. "Every year, we have doctors come and tell us their stories. We're the first people they're talking to about these types of experiences. They are literally shaking and trying not to cry, and talking about it as war - a war they were not trained for," added Vernoff.
