Grey's Anatomy continues to be one of the top dramas on TV today. It will be entering its 17th season hopefully later this year (pandemic permitting). We have seen countless couples over the years and have picked our five favorites to share with you today. Did your favorite make the cut (pardon our medical reference)?
Meredith and Derek
By far, Mer and Der are my favorite of the Grey's Anatomy couples. Their relationship started in the very first episode and blossomed into a wonderful marriage with three kids. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't always easy for these two with ex-wives, vets, and nurses named Rose getting in the way. However, they were able to make it work with a post-it note marriage and live happily ever after until that car accident that caused Derek to lose his life.
Alex and Jo
I was never a fan of Alex and Izzie, so it was great to see Alex find true love with Jo. The couple loved each other so much that they decided to get married twice! Alex also helped Jo cope with her adoptive mother woes while she aided him with his sick mother. Let's not talk about how shortly after that second marriage Alex up and left Jo to go back to Izzie. I only want to remember the good years with these two.
Callie and Arizona
We were first introduced to Callie when she was dating and quickly married to George. I never rooted for that relationship, so I was excited when Callie decided to explore her sexuality. As soon as this happens, magically a lesbian doctor named Arizona arrives to Grey's Anatomy (we choose to forget Dr. Hahn). And fans loved the instant chemistry between the two ladies. We hope they are living a happily ever after in New York with their daughter.
Lexie and Mark
It took awhile before Lexie and Mark started to date. When they did, we fell in love with their instant chemistry. These two were my favorite characters so you can imagine the shock when Lexie passed away in the plane crash from season 8. Mark was so devastated at the loss of his soul mate that he would also succumb to his injuries in season 9. We hope the two are together again in the afterlife.
Jackson and April
We must admit, that we were not fans with how the relationship of Jackson and April ended. We felt these two made a perfect match when they were first introduced with the merger in season 6. The two couldn't make it work and went their separate ways, but fans were still treated to several seasons of a cute romance. April has found her true love with Matthew and we are hoping that Jackson soon finds his and doesn't end up with Maggie.
