Dancing with the Stars: Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews Fired

It was announced yesterday evening that Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will not be returning as hosts to the popular reality show Dancing With the Stars. ABC studios released the news via a press release with BBC.

Andrews issued the following statement on her social media, “Thank you ABC and the entire Dancing With the Stars family for 6 memorable seasons. Those years wouldn’t have been as special without my loving host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers, and witty judges.”

The statement from the producers read, “Tom Bergeron will forever be part of theDancing With the Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success. Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom. Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a contestant back in 2010, and her signature sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show.”

Bergeron has been hosting Dancing With the Stars since the show premiered back in 2005. Andrews took on her duties in 2014 after placing 3rd in the season she participated as a contestant. Bergeon had took to social media to voice his disagreement about some of the decisions the show made most recently the casting of Sean Spicer as one of the contestants.

There has been no premiere date for the upcoming fall cycle of Dancing With the Stars. The current pandemic has left a lot of unknowns for many of our favorite television shows.
