Dancing with the Stars: New Host Announced

It didn't take long for ABC to announce who would be taking over hosting duties on the popular reality series Dancing with the Stars. Tyra Banks, know for hosting America's Next Top Model, will be taking over for Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrew. They were both fired from the show on Monday evening.

Banks released the following statement, "I've been a fan of DWTS since its beginning. The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances. It's always transported me to my days turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk. Tom has set a powerful stage, and I'm excited to continue the legacy."

ABC also released a statement to thank Bergeron for his long tenure with the network as he was host of America's Funniest Home Videos prior to taking the gig on Dancing with the Stars.

Banks rose to fame as a Victoria's Secret Model in the early 90's. She has also acted in several projects most recently the 2018 sequel to the Disney Channel movie Life Size she starred in alongside Lindsay Lohan in 2000. Her production company produced the popular reality series America's Next Top Model and her own talk show which last for five seasons.
