We have some sad news to share with our readers on this Monday afternoon. Netflix has announced that the dramedy series 'Dead to Me' will conclude at the end of its upcoming third season. The series stars veteran actresses Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as two women who become friends after one accidentally kills the other's cheating husband.
Fans are probably relieved that we will get one more season of the series since season two, which came out in May, ended in a cliffhanger. Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini) were hit by a car driven by a drunk Ben, played marvelously by James Marsden.
Series creator Liz Feldman released the following statement, "From start to finish 'Dead to Me is exactly the show I wanted to make. It's been an incredible gift. Telling a story sprung from grief and loss has stretched me as an artist and healed me as a human." Feldman has signed a deal with the streaming service that will allow her to create future projects.
'Dead to Me' premiered in May 2019 to critical praise. Applegate received both a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for her work on the show's first season. Thought there has not been an announcement when season 3 will bow, it can be expected that the last 10 episodes will air in May 2021. However, with the current pandemic situation, we may not see a conclusion to the series until later that that.
