4 Awesome Behind the Scenes Podcasts of TV Shows

Being stuck at home over the last few months has given me the opportunity to check out a few new podcasts. As someone who regularly listened to the true crime genre, I wanted something a little more lighthearted. I decided to check out what TV themed podcasts where out there, and I fell in love with what I found. Here are four podcasts to check out if you are interested in learning more about your favorite TV shows.

The Office Ladies

In October 2019, best pals and former The Office co-stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey released Office Ladies. Each week the actresses provide "fast facts" about an episode and interview members of the cast and crew who share their experiences on set. The duo also makes sure to answer plenty of fan questions during the 60-75 minute podcast episode. A recent favorite episode of mine was when they discussed season 3 episode "Diwali" with Mindy Kaling.

Fake Doctors, Real Friends

Zach Braff and Donald Faison rose to fame in the early 2000's on the beloved NBC sitcom Scrubs. It has been almost 20 years since the series debuted and the two have remained best friends. Twice a week, Braff and Faison walk down memory lane with their podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends. You can see how much the cast and crew still get along because sometimes the episodes don't even touch on anything in an episode. It focuses more on a bunch of friends reminiscing about a fun time in their lives. A favorite episode is the season 1 finale with special guests Bill Lawrence and Christa Miller.

Showmance: The Glee Recap Edition

Though Artie and Tina were not the most important characters on Glee, the actors who played them (Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz) still have a lot of information to share with fans on their podcast Showmance: The Glee Recap Edition. Each week, the duo discuss an episode and include great behind the scenes facts. Special guests have included Matthew Morrison, Heather Morris, and Lea Michele. They even feature a "Gleek" of the week just like the series did on FOX.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Podcast

Marc Evans Jackson may not play a main character on Brooklyn Nine-Nine (He plays Captain Holt's husband Kevin), but he can still deliver on behind the scenes information of the series. The podcast doesn't necessarily recap each episode. Instead, cast and crew talk about key elements of the series as a whole. If you enjoy Jackson as a podcast host, he also dishes on The Good Place on the podcast "The Good Place: The Podcast".
