Saved by the Bell fans rejoiced earlier this week when the podcast Zack to the Future debuted. It is hosted by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who rose to fame in the 90's playing teen heartthrob Zack Morris. The podcast is also hosted by Zack Morris is Trash creator Dashiell Driscoll.
In episode one, Driscoll reviews the syllabus with Gosselaar and even tests his Saved by the Bell knowledge. Surprisingly, Zack Morris did pretty well having not seen the show in over 30 years. At the end of the podcast, fans were delighted to hear Tiffani Thiessen's voice. She played the pretty cheerleader Kelly Kapowski on the series and will soon appear on the podcast. That got us thinking about who else we would like to see pop up on the podcast. Here are our five favorites.
The Main Cast
It couldn't be a true Saved by the Bell podcast if we didn't get to hear from the other original cast members: Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, and Dennis Haskins. Over the years, Gosselaar has stayed in touch with most of his former cast members so it should be fairly easy to secure them for an appearance. We wouldn't be sad if Ed Alonzo didn't make the cut.
Hayley Mills
In the first episode of Zack to the Future, they made note that would start the rewatch with the first episode of the Saved by the Bell series, not the Good Morning, Miss Bliss episodes. We hope they will take a look back on those 13 episodes with a special appearance from our favorite teacher played by Hayley Mills.
Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling played the geeky but lovable Violet Bickerstaff on a handful of Saved by the Bell episodes. It wold be great for her to reminisce about her time on the series. Spelling loves to be in the limelight, so it should be an easy ask. We may even get to hear some juicy 90210 gossip.
Leah Remini
Everyone loves the Malibu Sands Beach Club episodes where the gang all get summer jobs (aside from Lisa). The gang meets Stacey Carosi, played by Leah Remini. Gosselaar mentions her in the first episode of the podcast. Remini has gone on to star in several series like The King of Queens since then, so locking her down may be tough.
Leanna Creel
Leanna Creel appeared in 10 episodes of Saved by the Bell as Tori to fill the void of Thiessen and Berkley departing the series. She would be a great addition to the podcast in the fourth season to discuss her on-screen romance with Gosselaar and talk about what it was like coming on a popular series towards the end of its run.
