Fans were excited to hear last month that The Simpsons would be airing new episodes in late September. With most new shows still in limbo due to the pandemic, old and new fans will be tuning in to watch the antics of Springfield's finest. One of those is elderly man Hans Moleman. Here are our five favorite moments featuring him.
Temporary Bart Simpson
In season five of The Simpsons, Bart becomes the heir to Mr. Burns fortune. Homer and Marge hire a detective to bring Bart back into their lives and convince him that he does not love Mr. Burns. Sadly for the couple, it is not their son that the detective finds but our favorite elderly man Hans. Homer loves kissing that wrinkled head, so he wasn't that sad about the mixup.
Man Getting Hit by Football
Who knew that Hans Moleman was a filmmaker? In season 6, the town of Springfield hosts a film festival. Hans enters with the film "Man Getting Hit by Football." Homer appears to be the only one that finds it humorous (outside from the fans at home.) Hans also has a hilarious line when the audience is boo-ing Mr. Burns' film and he asks if that is what they are actually doing. Hans replies that he wasn't saying "Boo" but "Boo-Urns."
My Brains
In season 7, Hans Moleman has apparently taken a job at the Nuclear Power Plant as a janitor. When he finds out Mr. Burns is giving away money, he asks for a push broom rebristling. Instead, he gets a drill to the head after being confused for the Lucky Charms leprechaun.
Gay for Moleman
In the 16th season, Bart and Lisa are having an argument. They notice Hans Moleman sitting across the street and say that each other is in love with the elderly man. At the end of the fight, Moleman claims that no one is gay for him as the audience cracks up from their living rooms.
Gremlin
I don't know about you, but I wasn't surprised to see that Hans Moleman drives a Gremlin. That type of car fits in perfectly with season five's Halloween episode. Bart sees an actual gremlin on the side of the bus tearing it to shreds. He informs Otto, who then rams poor Hans off the road with amusing results. No one can quite die like Hans Moleman can.
